Come Again??

Nine months? My daughter is how old?!?!? How is it that nine months can seem an ETERNITY while you're pregnant, yet they FLY by once the fun part begins? Crazy. We took Lucy to her nine-month checkup yesterday and here are the stats:

Weight: 16 lbs 8 oz (9th %tile)

Height: 27.5 in (40 %tile)

That's right. Our little peanut is still as shrimpy as ever. She is still wearing size two diapers with room to spare!! (This may be due to the fact that she has inherited my bum (or the lack thereof)). We have started to dress her in 6-9 month sized clothing, but it drowns her. I'll consider it a blessing that I have such a small baby with my bad back though. Here are some things I love about Lucy at this age:

-She uses her index finger to point to everything. She loves to touch her index finger to other people's.
E.T. phone home....

-She is SO curious about EVERYTHING. I'm in for it when this girl starts crawling.

-She's a never ending stream of squeals, giggles, babbling and humming.

-She "sings" in the car.

-Lucy will sit with a basket of toys and entertain herself for 30-45 minutes at a time.
-She is still sleeping 12-13 hours every night uninterrupted and taking 3-4 naps each day.

-So far she's a great eater. She'll eat anything I throw at her.

-She waves bye-bye

-She does a happy dance whenever Jordan or I walk into the room.

-She H.A.T.E.S. to be on her stomach. Tummy time is not a happy time for Lucy Walker.

Lucy still hasn't crawled. She prefers to just scoot around on her bum. She's starting to bear weight on her arms in order to reach for toys, but she'll accidentally fall into crawling position and then the wailing begins. I documented the progression just today in fact.
Happy Lucy (pre-tummy)
Wait a second.......

She is so cute! I can't believe how little she weighs, I swear our youngest was that heavy when he was 4 months old. Did I ever tell you he didn't ROLL OVER until he was 10 months old? He was to chubby.
Be glad about the crawling thing, she will love to explore and get into everything!!! You and Jordan will have to tag team her all the time. She is a doll....

She is amazing! And SO darling! Seriously, she's the only girl I know that will actually wear out her baby clothes! Phineas has way out done her! He's in size 3 diapers and in 6-9 month clothes (12 month clothes from Old Navy and Children's Place). So much for all those awesome winter 12 month size clothes I bought at the end of season last year. I guess it'll be perfect sunblock for his fair skin, right?

Seriously, as soon as June rolls around, we're hanging out!

n.i.n.e. wow. still as cute as ever though! and not to worry. enjoy the time you have while she's not crawling or cruising or walking. really. she's doing you a favor. yes, it's hard but i know you two can do it. but that's not to say that more tummy time would do wonders for her...although she may not think that she wants to, it'll be good thing.
we need another date night. have your people call my people. :D

9 months already? Time does fly. She sounds a lot like Brooklynn she is always under the 10th %tile for weight. I use to worry, but that's just the way she is. I love that Lucy, she is ADORABLE! 9 months is such a fun, fun stage. That is amazing she will play with her toys that long. I am glad she is such a happy baby for you guys. You guys are awesome, love you!

Her list of accomplishments is impressive to say the least. 45 minutes of independent playing!?! 12 to 13 hours of sleep?!? 3 to 4 naps a day?!?! Tell me your kidding...please.

The tummy time pics are so funny, cruel of me to laugh at the pain of tummy time. Luc makes my day whenever I see her. Whatever she lacks in size she sure makes up in personality!

she is perfectly adorable. i cant believe my 5 month old weighs MORE than Lucy!!! i think it is hilarious she hates tummy time. My kids are tummy sleepers so they love it naturally. :) I just wish Ryder would sleep as good as Lucy! call me this week. now that school is almost out maybe we can play more!!

Claire wasn't a big fan of tummy time, but I do think it helped her learn to crawl faster, which I don't know if that was a good thing or not. She is so dang cute and my babies are small like yours, but yours might grow later and I don't think mine will!!
