General Conference and a Hurt Momma....

How about General Conference?? So. Good. Once again, Elder Holland managed to touch my soul. I remember growing up how my parents would say how much they loved conference. I remember thinking, "Yeah right. That's just something grown-ups say because they're supposed to." Now I get it. It's so nice to hear talks that uplift, inspire, and prompt me to be better. We had an eventful conference weekend. It started on Friday night when my family drove to Logan for the BYU-Utah State football game. Oh boy. Congrats to Utah State is all I have to say. Let the record show that I am still a die-hard Cougar fan. Anyway, we spent the weekend with the Walkers. On Sunday afternoon Jenny and I made some bangin' caramel apples. I'm talking the kind dipped in white chocolate and cinnamon/brown sugar. They turned out great. Maybe a tradition has been born??

On Saturday night we received some not-so-good news. My parents were staying at a cabin in Idaho and went for an ATV ride. They were on a steep trail with some crazy switch-backs and my mom accidentally rolled the ATV on top of herself. Good news: She's alive. Bad news: She has two broken ribs and two broken vertebrae (L1 and L2). It's been really hard to see her in so much pain. She doesn't do well on narcotics (they make her extremely nauseated), so she has to decide if she wants to be in pain or feel horrible. She has been watching Lucy for us two days a week, so our babysitting situation for the next couple of months will be interesting. I'm just so glad that she wasn't hurt worse.
