What a Week...

Conference and Easter the same weekend. Does it get better? It's been a great week. Here's why:
Remember how I said that Lucy has been teething? One morning I went to get her out of her crib and this is what I found. Green snot crusted all over her face. After visiting the doctor, turns out she had developed a sinus infection from the teething. A few antibiotics later and she seems to be feeling much better, and..........her two bottom teeth finally broke through. Hooray!!!!!
Last Monday I got to spend the day at Thanksgiving Point with some of my closest friends. We fed the farm animals, went to lunch, and caught up on each other's lives. What would we do without girlfriends? This is my dear friend, Lindsey, holding Lucy. Lindsey looks like she could be Lucy's mom.
Lucy loved the animals!
Lucy's first pony ride. I about broke my back trying to keep her upright on that pony.
Dying Easter eggs. I thought this one was particularly awesome.
My cousin, Erin, came down for the weekend. Everyone always says we look so much alike.
Jordan's "poop" egg. How couth.
Ooooooooh. Pretty.
Lucy's first Easter basket. She gets a basket full of new toys and books and what does she go for? The mini bag of Teddy Grahams. Remind me why I buy her new stuff?
After finding our Easter baskets.
Lucy discovered that she LOVES chocolate pudding. Once she got a hold of the beater it was all over. Happy Easter everyone!

March in a Nutshell.....

Anyone else ready for Spring? I know that technically it's already Spring, but I'm talking about warm weather, blossoms, tulips, green grass, etc. That's what I'm ready for. This past month has been a little challenging. Jordan has been crazy busy with his accounting internship and night classes. I finally got really tired of my back hurting all the time and decided it was time to get serious about fixing it. I have been going to physical therapy three times a week for three weeks now. While I can definitely feel a difference, each appointment takes over two hours. This means that on the days I have physical therapy, I don't get home until 6:30. That gives me an hour-and-a-half to see Lucy before she goes to bed. Definitely NOT enough. Also, little Lucy has been teething for the last week. She is little miss grumpy pants during the day, and up every 2-3 hours at night. I feel so bad for her. I hate seeing her so miserable. Now that I've just been a major whiner, I'm going to look on the bright side. Jordan finishes his internship on April 15th. He's gotten great accounting experience and could possibly end up with a job offer. I must say that it has been nice to have two incomes as well :) While the physical therapy is pretty time-intensive, I am definitely feeling a difference in my pain level. Now that I'm done nursing I am finally starting to lose my baby weight! Woo woo. Even though Lucy is teething, she's still darn cute. See, life really is good.

March is a big birthday month for me and Jordan. Scott's birthday is on the 15th, Jordan's dad's is on the 18th, our sister-in-law, Jessica's is on the 20th, and Jordan's mom's is on the 21st. Hence, there has been much celebrating. Also, my dad served his mission to Ireland so we do St. Patrick's Day big time at our house. I love holidays and birthdays because they give us an excuse to break up some of the monotony of daily life and CELEBRATE! Here are some pictures I took this month.

Lucy in the tub with Emma. We just put her in her Bumbo and it floats like a raft. Lucy LOVES her cousins, Abbi and Emma. Every time she sees them she squeals and laughs and is SO excited. It's really cute to see the bond they are already forming.
This is what I see most mornings. It doesn't matter how many times I take that little quilt off her face. She just puts it right back over her face. Should I be concerned?
Scott on his 27th birthday. I had to post this picture because he looks ridiculously freaky.
He was very excited about all his presents.

Seven Month Picture Shoot..

I love talented people. I especially love talented people who are willing to share their talents with others. While we were in Vancouver, my cousin's wife, Michelle, offered to take pictures of Lucy. She recently started a photography business and is working on building her portfolio. You mean you want to take pictures of my baby?? For free?? Well......OKAY!!! She took SO many cute pictures, but I won't inundate you with them all. Here are some of my favorites. If you're ever in Vancouver and want some great pictures, check her out at michellecervophotography.

Back From the Olympics!!

We just got back from a week at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. i.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e. My dad is so awesome and bought tickets to lots of events, so we were able to really get into the spirit of things. All of my mom's family live in the Vancouver area, so it was great to catch up with everyone. The day before we left, Lucy came down with a nasty virus (great timing, right?). She was so sick the entire drive up and the first two days we were there. At night she was waking herself up almost every hour in coughing fits. Needless to say, Jordan and I did not get much sleep either. I felt so bad for her. Luckily, she snapped out of it, and was great for the rest of the trip. Vancouver is such a beautiful place. It has the best of everything--mountains, forests, the ocean, and a city FULL of fun things to do. We took the Skytrain downtown almost everyday just to be a part of all the Olympic festivities. They had free concerts, yummy ethnic food, street performers, and great photo opportunities everywhere. It was so cool to see how excited and proud the Canadian people were to hold the Olympics at home. EVERYONE was decked out in official team Canada gear. The Bay department store was the supplier of the Canadian Olympic gear. The downtown store had a line that went around the block from the time it opened until closing time. We stood in the line three times to try to get some Canadian gear, but they were sold out every time we made it into the store. Lame. I have to say I was MAJORLY disappointed by the Team USA gear. It was designed by Ralph Lauren and it was U.G.L.Y! Not only was it ugly, it was crazy expensive. A Team USA t-shirt was $90. The USA jacket was $660. Sickening. I hardly saw any Americans sporting the U.S. gear, and for good reason. So, once again I took a lot of pictures. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Thanks dad!

We went to the victory ceremony on Thursday night. Shaun White and Shani Davis both got their gold medals that night. It was so amazing to hear the US national anthem being played, and to feel so PROUD to be an American.
Jordan, my dad, Kalli and Steve went to the ski jumping qualifier at Whistler
The four-generation shot. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for putting us up, and for putting up with us. The meals and accommodations couldn't have been better. We love you!

Lucy's First Haircut...

Yes, my six-month old needed a haircut. I've kind of been putting it off for awhile, because I think babies look so different after they get a haircut. Finally last Sunday, I decided it was time. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but she had really long, thick hair on both sides (sort of like rat tails), and then a lovely bald spot in the back. My neighbor, Jean Leishman, cut her hair for me. It was a well-documented moment.

Look how different she looks! It's okay. Hair grows.

Welcome to Motherhood....

See this sweet face?

Don't let it fool you.

I had one of those baptism by fire moments tonight. While eating her dinner, Lucy filled her pants. When I took her downstairs to change her I realized that she had blown poop all the way up her back and down her legs. The problem was after setting her down, there was now poop all over the changing table and there was no way to get her onesie off without getting poop all over the rest of her. After taking her onesie off, she had poop all over her back, down both legs, covering her arms, and in her hair. To make matters worse she kicked her legs down on the poopy diaper, and got poop on both her feet. What to do? I couldn't remove her from the poopy changing table and set her on the bed all covered in poop. So I began the wipedown of the century, all the while trying to keep Lucy from putting her poopy feet in her mouth (quite the feat!). After getting her sufficiently wiped down, I carried my naked baby like a football while running bath water (and while trying to keep her from sucking on my very bacteria-ridden hands). Five minutes later I had a squeaky clean baby. I have to admit I was very proud of myself. I managed to laugh throughout this entire ordeal. Oh the joys of motherhood!!
