Walker Family Time....

After we got back from Lake Powell, we moved our stuff over to Jordan's parent's house.  We had a great week with the Walkers.  Lucy is SO close to her Grandma Walker and wants to be wherever she is.
We spent one afternoon at the new City Creek Mall with some of the Walkers.  What a cool place!!  Salt Lake has arrived.
That night we went to Boondocks with the rest of the Walkers.  We got Unlimited Fun Passes and went wild.  The fun started on the bumper boats where everyone got SOAKED.  I wasn't able to ride the go-carts, so Lucy and I went inside and played on the playplace while everyone go-carted.
After some mini-golf we headed inside for some bowling.

A great day with the Walker clan!!

Lake Powell....

After being in Utah for two weeks, Jordan was finally able to join Lucy and I.  We were SOOOO happy to see him.  Lucy would not leave his side the rest of the trip.  She would even try to follow him into the bathroom.  Two weeks is a long time to be on vacation without your husband.  I was so relieved for him to come.  Jordan flew in on Thursday night and we left for Lake Powell with my family on Sunday afternoon.  We had such a great time despite the crazy hot temperatures.  One day it reached 111 degrees.  Can you say hot?  We spent more time on the houseboat with the AC going this trip for obvious reasons.  It was usually around 92 degrees every night while we slept on top of the houseboat.  I would jump in before bed, and soak my clothes in the water.  Then, I wouldn't dry off, but go lay right down to try to fall asleep while I was still wet.  I usually woke up around 2:00 to go the bathroom and I would be completely dry.  Crazy.
These two girls had a ball sitting on the front of the houseboat while we drove to our spot.
The man himself.
My cousin Brian, his wife Michelle, and their darling baby Maddie came on this trip.  Poor Michelle was up all night long every night with Maddie, poor thing!!  Despite her sleep deprivation, she was still so fun to have along.

Many naps were taken.

What would a Lake Powell trip be without digging in the sand?
The twitterpated couple.  Joey proposed to my sister while we were there. They went for a boat ride and she came back with a ring on her finger.  We're so excited for Joey to be joining our family this November.  Congrats you two!!!

Daddy/daughter tube ride.

While it was a great week, I was ready to come home and sleep in a comfy bed.  Lake Powell mats + sciatica = no bueno.

Dinner with Grad Friends

What's better than getting together with a bunch of girls you love??  Not a whole lot.  One night, I got to go to dinner with my friends from graduate school.  Even though we graduated four years ago, we still get together for wedding/baby showers, playdates, and dinners.  I. love. it.  These girls truly understand me, and understand what it means to be a mom/wife/working SLP.  It was so fun to see them!
Camie, me, Julia, and Jessica are all expecting.  Actually, Jessica has since had her baby boy.
Belly shot!!

Princess Festival...

While we were in Utah, my sister-in-law, Jessica invited us to the Princess Festival at Thanksgiving Point.  Lucy was beside herself with excitement.  To be honest, I've kind of dragged my feet on the whole "princess thing".  I wasn't into princess stuff and dress-ups when I was little, so I have been hesitant to get Lucy too involved.  However, the truth is.....she loves it.  She is such a girl at heart and loves all things pink, girly, and princess.  I decided it's time to embrace this crazy Princess train, and hold on for the ride. That morning we went to Target and she got to pick out a princess dress.  She chose the Rapunzel dress.  Emma dressed as Snow White and Abbi went as Cinderella.

Lucy was so excited to meet the real Rapunzel!

My mom, Rachel, and Adelaide came too.  Here we are posing with the crew from Peter Pan.
Ariel.
We got to go for a horse-drawn carriage ride.
Belle.
After spending enough time in her dress, this princess was ready to strip down and play in the fountain at the entrance.

Thanks for iniviting us Jess.  What a fun day!
