Utah Trip....

We're back from a month-long trip to the Beehive State.  Lucy and I were SO excited to fly home and see everyone.  We counted down the number of "sleeps" and then June 7th finally arrived.  We were up 4:00 AM, and off to the airport.  We stopped for pastries at the airport for breakfast.
Lucy did beautifully on both flights.  She watched movies on the iPad for awhile.
Then, she crashed for the rest of the flight.

My sciatia was awful, because sitting for long periods of time really flares it up.  By the time we reached SLC, I was in pretty significant pain.  Our first stop once reaching Utah was.......Cafe Rio.  Ha ha.  When I lived there, I didn't truly appreciate its goodness.  I had been CRAVING a Cafe Rio pork burrito for months, and I was determined that we would stop there first.  Members of both my family and Jordan's met us there so it was fun to catch up.  After lunch we went back to my parent's house.  My mom's parents were in town from Vancouver, BC, and I was SO glad that our trips overlapped so I could see them.  That night my Hale grandparents dropped by to see us too.  How cool is it that Lucy still has three sets of great-grandparents alive?  Lucky girl.  We took some photos while we were all together.

While my Ursaki grandparents were in town we went to the gardens at Thanksgiving Point.
Cute Adelaide and Rachel joined us too.
It's hard for my grandparents to get around, so my dad rented them this golf cart.

He also rented himself a Segway.
I may have taken it for a spin or two.
So did Annie.

In case you're wondering, yes, I did strip my child down naked and let her play in the fountains.  It was hot, all right?
Lucy had so much fun with her Papa this trip.  She told me after the first day, "Mom, Papa is my favorite boy."
One of the grandkid's favorite things to do is swim with Papa in his "pool" aka hot tub.  They get up every morning and put on their swim suits.  My dad goes out with them and they splash and yell and giggle.  After they are sufficiently pruny, they all come inside and have a huge bubble bath in his jetted tub.
Lucy warmed right up to her great-grandparents too.  They were so good to read to her and play with her.

Mike and Erin and the kids were also in town the first week we were there for Erin's sister's wedding.  One of the afternoons we went swimming at Rachel's family's pool.
Some of the Walkers joined us too.

Thanks Rach!! What a fun afternoon!
Lucy spent lots of time reading with Grandma too!

I decided to break up my trip into several posts instead of trying to do it all in one.  Stay tuned.

For Our Moms....

So, I honestly don't expect anyone to care about this post except our moms.  Both have requested that I send some pictures of our yard and especially of my flower pots.  Flowers do very well in the humid climate of Georgia.

The trailing petunias were overtaking everything in the pots, so I ended up tearing some of them out.  Here is what the pots looked like before I thinned the petunias.
The Creeping Myrtle reached over three feet long before I cut it back.

Everyone here uses pine straw as a ground cover.  It's much cheaper than bark, and keeps the weeds back.  I wasn't a big fan of pine straw at first, but it's growing on me.
 There you go mother(s).

20 week shot....

So, I've gotten some lip from people about not posting any pictures this pregnancy.  My poor son is going to feel bad that I have not documented this pregnancy nearly as well Lucy's.  For the record, I am now 20 weeks along and no longer puking.  My sciatica is just is bad, if not worse, then when I was pregnant with Lucy.  I guess this time around I was fully expecting it, so it's not coming as a surprise.  I'm just not as interested in posting pictures of my ever-expanding body.  How's that for grumpy?

"Stay-cation".....

Since moving to Atlanta, Jordan hasn't been able to do much of anything but, well......work.  Lucy and I have explored quite a bit, but Jordan hasn't been able to join us much.  After a long, dragged out busy season, Jordan decided to take a week off.  We talked about some fun road trips we could take, but then decided it would be nice to stay home and show Jordan around.  We had a fabulous "stay-cation," and we're sad to see Jordan go back to work tomorrow.  In fact, every time Lucy said her prayers this week she would say, "Thanks that Daddy could be home."  Too cute.  Here are some of the fun things we did this week.  Unfortunately, many of these pictures were taken on my phone so they're not the best quality.

Georgia Aquarium:

Lunch at the CNN Center:

Food Truck Park:
Atlanta is known for it's AMAZING food trucks.  Many of them have been highlighted on Food Network.  They just opened this great Food Truck Park where many of the food trucks park and set up tables.  So many great food choices!!  This is definitely a place we will frequent.

We had some Sweet Auburn BBQ for lunch.

Then a popsicle from the "King of Pops" cart.
Jordan got the chocolate sea salt popsicle and....
I got the vanilla pear popsicle.  Lucy opted for the banana pudding popsicle with Nilla wafers.  Oh so good.

Swimming at the pool:
In case you've never been to Atlanta, it is hot, hot hot!!  Most of the neighborhoods here have pools that you can buy memberships to.  We joined a neighborhood pool with several other families from our ward and have been going almost every day.

Buford Highway Farmer's Market:
We heard about a great farmer's market from some friends and decided to check it out.  The place was HUGE!  They had food/produce/baked goods from all over the world.  We got some delicious produce and some yummy treats from here.  Here are some of the cool things we saw there.
Ugli fruit.
Sugar cane.
Mini bananas.
New Zealand melons.
Cactus.
Can't remember what these were called, but they were huge.

Catch Air Playplace:
Huge indoor playplace.

Zoo Atlanta:

Atlantic Station Food Truck Friday:
Yeah, so we went back for more.  This time we went to the food trucks parked at Atlantic Station.  We ate the Asian Beef burritos with spicy cheese sauce from Yumbi's.  Oh. my. goodness.

Dessert:  Yum Yum cupcake with a graham cracker crust, marshmallow center, and a fluffy vanilla buttercream.

Lucy's First Movie in a Theater:
We took Lucy to her first movie in a movie theater.  I was a little apprehensive, because she can get anxious in places with loud noises.  We chose "The Lorax" at the dollar theater in case she freaked out. She is familiar with the book so we thought she might like it.  Turns out, she LOVED the movie and did great.  A little popcorn and an Icee go a long way.  The theater was packed, and she wasn't always good at whispering but overall it was really fun.  I can't believe how big she is getting.

What a good week.  Lucy and I are headed to Utah on Thursday.  We'll be there two weeks before Jordan joins us for an additional two weeks.  We are SO excited to see everyone.  Lucy and I have been counting down the "sleeps" until Utah.  Four more sleeps.
